Panda Cloud Antivirus is the first antivirus developed by Panda Security that based on cloud computing. Currently, the antivirus only support Windows 32-bit system but alternate version for 64-bit or Windows 7 is definitely underway. The antivirus is designed to be light-weight in size and in resource consumption, easy to use, and hopefully provide more protection to the end user. To achieve all that, Panda Security has created the “Collective Intelligence”.

Collective Intelligence is a system within cloud that automates the entire malware protection cycle, collecting new samples, analyzing, categorizing, creating detection and disinfection routines and delivering the protection to each node. By using this approach, users do not need to worry about updating the virus signatures.

Requirements are Windows XP SP 2 or later/Vista Operating system (32-bit), 100MB disk space, 64MB RAM, Internet Explorer 6 or later, and of course an internet connection.

Privacy is also a major concern for Panda Security, the antivirus is designed NOT to send any files or personal information to the cloud. Only PE files (.EXE, .COM, etc) are checked against the cloud.

Protection is not only given while your online. Panda Cloud Antivirus also store a local cache of Collective Intelligence for offline operation. So you can detect for virus, malware or trojan while you are offline.

Do I have to pay? No, currently the antivirus is in beta version and you can download it for free.
